How it works

– Liveaboard / multi-day
– Captain optional
– Bareboat cert required

Fury St. Augustine is the newest location of Fury Water Adventures, the Key West and Marathon operator, and it runs two catamarans from the boardwalk behind Beaches Restaurant at Beaches Marina on Vilano Beach. Atlantic Fury is the one that sails: a 65-foot sailing catamaran with covered seating, a bar and two marine heads, the company logo on her mainsail.

Her seat-sale schedule is a two-hour live-music sunset sail, with local musicians aboard and beer, wine and margaritas in the ticket, and a dolphin-watch and historic harbor sail past the Castillo de San Marcos and the Bridge of Lions. In season she adds Nights of Lights and fireworks-viewing trips. The whole boat goes private for weddings, corporate outings and parties.

One thing to keep straight when booking: the company’s Island Cat, a 45-foot power catamaran, runs some of the same dolphin-watch, Nights of Lights and fireworks trips, and the site calls several of them sails whichever boat is going. Atlantic Fury is the one with the mast. Parking on Vilano Road is limited and Fury has none of its own, so allow time to park and walk, or come by ride-share.
