For a cruising sailor, the useful facts are the marina’s. Sixty-five slips taking yachts to 97 feet, with diesel, gas, and pump-out on the dock. That is real service infrastructure. The position matters too: the club sits near the mouth of the Caloosahatchee at roughly mile 146 of the Okeechobee Waterway, which makes it the last full-service private-club stop before the Gulf for boats crossing Florida by the inside route, and the first after the Sanibel Causeway for boats coming in.
Founded in 1990 inside the gated St. Charles Harbour community, the club is an FCYC member, so the reciprocal network of more than thirty-five Florida clubs runs through here. The club’s own calendar leans into it, with an active schedule of reciprocal visits in both directions.
There is no racing program to look for; this is a cruising and dining club. Judge it as that, and as a strategically placed one.
