All-volunteer dinghy club sailing a twelve-boat fleet of Hunter 140s, JY 15s, and Hobie Waves from Lake Baldwin Park in Winter Park. Open membership, monthly racing, and a community learn-to-sail program run with the city.
The club owns all twelve boats, six Hunter 140s, three JY 15s, and three Hobie Waves, kept at Lake Baldwin Park under an arrangement with the City of Winter Park, and members sail them rather than bringing their own. Membership is open to anyone, with one gate: demonstrate you can tack, jibe, recover a man overboard, and right a capsize, or take the classes first.
The classes are the club’s public face. The Community Sailing Program runs three Monday evening shore sessions at the Winter Park library plus three Saturday mornings on the water, about eighteen hours total, minimum age sixteen and aimed squarely at adults. Instruction is all-volunteer, uses US Sailing’s Learn Sailing Right curriculum, and fall 2026 sessions are already scheduled; the annual Community Sailing Day each spring put 41 future sailors on the lake in March 2026.
The rhythm is monthly: open sailing the first Sunday, racing the second (gates at one, first start at two), and moonlight sails over on Lake Fairview. Its 501(c)(3) dates to 2008, but the lineage runs back some fifty years to the American Red Cross small-craft program this club grew out of. Alongside Lake Eustis Sailing Club, it is the answer to sailing in landlocked Orlando.
The Sailing Club is open to the public: no member sponsorship required to take part. Class schedules, program fees, and any membership or annual-pass options are posted on its website.

Power, sail, and social club organized 1980, on the Indian River Lagoon at Seaway Drive in downtown Fort Pierce. Monthly offshore PHRF races plus spring, fall, and all-ladies regattas; any YCA-club member is welcomed, with transient berths next door at the city marina.
