Founded 1927 on Watson Island, on Biscayne Bay between downtown Miami and South Beach. Hosts the Miami to Key Largo Race, run for the 70th time in 2025, with proceeds to its Youth Sailing Foundation; youth, windsurfing, and adult sailing programs run from the club grounds.
Miami Yacht Club is a private club. Membership is subject to the club's approval. For current membership costs and how to apply, contact the club's membership office. Members of reciprocal yacht clubs can usually arrange visiting access with advance notice.

Founded 1887 by Commodore Ralph Middleton Munroe, and one of the oldest yacht clubs in the Southeastern United States. Current Coconut Grove clubhouse dates to 1932; an early lessee of the Cape Florida lighthouse from 1888 to 1893.
